8/6/2023 0 Comments 2011 chevy suv![]() ![]() The other minor issues I have had include random electrical gremlins that cause the auto headlights to come on randomly in direct sunlight, slipping serpentine belt that causes dimming of interior lights on occasion. Burning over 2 quarts of oil per 1000 miles. To summarize, 2011 Equinox with a 2.4 L engine only having 58,000 miles has had the following major issues:ġ. This vehicle is now being traded in as I cannot deal with the sheer level of crap that is the 2011 Equinox. ![]() This repair was quoted at 600-700 dollars to replace an axle seal. The vehicle is still under the mileage for the powertrain warranty but past the time limit by 4 months. At 58,000 miles, the rear differential is now leaking. I refused brake replacement, another story, but it turned out that there was more than half of the braking material left and no need whatsover to replace the pads or rotors as we were quoted. All told there was over $7,000 worth of work done. Upon vehicle inspection, they also "discovered" that the AC condenser was leaking and needed to be replaced and that the rear brakes were "metal on metal" and needed to be replaced. After (no lie) 12 visits to dealerships (one of which I refused to deal with any further as they wanted me to drop the vehicle off for the entire day for an oil consumption test), to monitor the oil level, they finally agreed to rebuild the engine (45,000 miles) as well as fix a transmission leak. Shortly after I noticed that the vehicle was losing oil quite rapidly and seemed down on power. This was repaired by the dealership under warranty. Immediately we found rust on the … bottom of the rear doors (at 38,000 miles). When I bought the car off of them, it was as if a self-destruct button was pushed. In the first 3 years of them owning the vehicle, they had to have several things repairs: Driver's seat, fuel pump/timing chain and some other minor issues. It was purchased off of my parent who bought the vehicle new. If you want an SUV that’s loaded with features, look for the Explorer Limited, which offers a power-folding third row, voice-controlled SYNC and MyFord Touch interface systems.I have owned this vehicle for about 18 months. The base 2011 Ford Explorer closely matches the Traverse’s standard features, but higher Explorer trims offer more high-tech features and a more upscale interior. However, if you’re looking for a crossover that has strong safety ratings, as well as good fuel economy, the Highlander is one of the best choices in the class. The base Highlander offers a four-cylinder engine, which is much less powerful than the Traverse’s V6, and reviewers agreed that the Highlander doesn’t offer as much interior or cargo space. The 2011 Toyota Highlander provides the same level of basic, quiet comfort as the Chevrolet Traverse and comparable safety scores, but has better fuel economy. ![]() See the full 2011 Chevrolet Traverse specs » Other Cars to Consider Base features on the Traverse include front and rear manual climate control, a six-speaker stereo with an auxiliary input, satellite radio and cruise control, but depending on the trim level, you can find a Traverse with leather-trimmed first- and second-row seats, remote start, USB and Bluetooth phone connectivity, a power liftgate, navigation and a rearview camera. Even the Traverse’s top-of-the-line LTZ trim can’t compete with its more upscale siblings. For more luxury, shoppers will want to opt for either a 2011 GMC Acadia or a 2011 Buick Enclave. If you want more power, look for a Traverse with the dual exhaust option, which adds seven horsepower and is available in base LS, 1LT, 2LT and LTZ trims. The Traverse comes with a 3.6-liter V6 engine and either front- or all-wheel drive. The Traverse was our 2011 Best Midsize Crossover for the Money when it was new. When it was new, test drivers said the Traverse wasn’t particularly fast or sporty, but for a comfortable, affordable family crossover, it’s hard to beat. Plus, the Traverse offers more cargo space than most of its competitors. Reviewers said the 2011 Chevrolet Traverse is a good all-around crossover, noting that its standard third-row seat is roomy for the class. ![]()
